Rookie in the RAF by Ken Stallard

Ken Stallard, son of a farm labourer was born and bred in rural Berkshire. His father moved so frequently that he received very little schooling. At age 17 he had never left the county borders, but was due to be called up for National Service. Opting to join the RAF on a three year engagement (which attracted financial and other benefits), he was subsequently posted to Cardington, Padgate, Hereford and Wildenrath in Germany. ROOKIE IN THE RAF is the extraordinary account of those awesome, challenging and extremely amusing incidents transforming a very naive boy into a prospective military man.
