ROUGH DIAMONDS by Becker Vivienne

Nicky Butler and Simon Wilson are two jewellery designers who exerted an enormous influence on popular jewellery design from the late 1960s onward. Since starting work together, they have made an important collection of both precious and non-precious jewellery, and this book presents the collection. The second part of the book documents the way jewels reflect varying attitudes to femininity, and the chaning image of fashionable women in the 1980s and uses reproductions of the billboard photographs of famous and glamorous women wearing designer jewellery which were used by Butler and Wilson to launch their campaign against entrenched attitudes to fake jewellery.
