Rough Weather Seamanship for Sail and Power by Roger Marshall
Any boater who leaves the harbor is eventually going to end up in rough weather. A few will find themselves in genuinely life-threatening situations. This book concentrates on the boat - how to select and modify a boat with heavy weather in mind.
Roger Marshall (Jamestown, RI) has impressive credentials as a designer, author, and boater. After 5 years designing for the legendary firm of Sparkman & Stephens, he founded his own design company and has created boats from 15 to 65 feet in length. He is the author of 12 boating books, including The Complete Guide to Choosing a Cruising Sailboat (1999), All About Powerboats (2001), and Rough Weather Seamanship for Sail and Power (2006). An accomplished sailor, Marshall has competed at all levels of racing, including 5 Fastnet races, 11 Bermuda races, and the 1997 Atlantic Challenge from New York to Falmouth, England (placing third).
