Run Little Chicken Run! by Elena Pasquali
This jolly, interactive board book features indented animal trails on every page for children to follow with their finger as they read the story. Run Little Chicken Run is a classic tale of one animal setting off a panic stampede because of not finding out what trivial thing caused a scary THUMP. As Little Chicken runs away from the scary noise, children can follow his hasty footsteps and those of the animals who run away with him - the monkeys who swing through the trees, the deer who boings alongside, and the brave Lion who helps discover what all the fuss is about - which turns out to be something not very scary at all. As children follow the story, they will discover the moral at the end, that it is important to think for ourselves. Publishes along with Go Hare and Tortoise Go! a retelling of Aesop's fable.
