Judith Spelman is a journalist and author who was involved in setting up the Stamford Book Festival and Oundle Festival of Literature. She started the Sherborne Literary Festival and ran it for four years before stepping down to spend time on her writing. She has learnt from experience how to make a festival work and has spoken to numerous festival organisers about the way they run their festivals. In this book she includes a huge selection of their advice on all aspects of festivals.
