Saint Dominic by Jm Dorcy

In this well researched, popular biography, Sister Mary Jean Dorcy, O.P. relates the providentially inspired life of St. Dominic Guzman. Except for the grace of God and the turn of some unlikely circumstances, St. Dominic might have remained unknown to the world. Now he is known as the saint who fought the Albigensian Heresy, multiplied bread and wine, raised people from the dead, converted thousands with his preaching, gave the world the Rosary, and founded the Dominican Order. In just five years previous to his death he had launched a spiritual movement that has changed the shape of history.
Sister Mary Jean Dorcy, O.P., was a Dominican nun born in 1914 at Anacortes, Washington. After completing high school and upon beginning her college education at the University of Washington, she became a novitiate of the Dominican Sisters of the Holy Cross. She later became noted for her works as both an artist and an author, enjoying both activities equally. Besides the popular St. Dominic's Family, her other written works include Carrying of the Cross, Fount of Our Joy, Mary, My Mother, and Shrines of Our Lady. Sister Dorcy died in 1988.
