Sally Pockets by Tomme Kornegay
The story is about a 9-year-old country girl, perhaps somewhat like youself. She lived in the Ozark Mountains of Northwestern Arkansas in the 1930's (with brothers, sisters, Ma, Pa, Grammy, & Mr. Foot (Pa's old coon dog). Her story is about family togetherness, family love, and family trials and tribulations of the 1930's in a poor county of Arkansas. It encourages and invites us all to be part of her family. Why? Because lonllieness and uncertainty surround us all. This story focuses on the closeness the family shared, the gift Ma made for Chloe, and how it all changed her life.
This is Tomme's first book, and rightly so. It was a gift from God in 2005. She was very aware it was God's vision that prompted her to put it on paper. In 2008, she had it copyrighted. and waited until God said to her: My child, it is time. We cannot wait a moment longer. All my children need to be reminded they are loved. Take it to the World.
