This story on Christmas Eve tells of a family and their dog Sam who they adopted from an animal shelter where he had lingered for over one year. After finishing their evening meal, their gathered around the fire to hear Dad tell them that Santa Claus would come down the chimney that night to leave all three kids presents. The kids were excited and left out peanut butter cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for his reindeer. Because they knew Sam loved cookies and carrots they asked him not to eat them. He was very tempted to gulp them down after the family went to bed. It was so cold in front of the empty fireplace where he waited for Santa. But soon enough there was a clump on the roof and there was Santa The next morning when the kids came to the tree to see their presents they noticed that Sam had already received one of his own. That's when they knew he got to meet Santa Claus It was a wonderful Christmas for Sam and his Forever Family.

Howard, Christy: - Christy Howard co-authored her first book, The Environmental Due Diligence Handbook, as a young lawyer. It wasn't exactly the type of book she had dreamed of writing! Thus, they joined forces to create Read This...When I'm Dead to provide a friendly, upbeat guide for others. After Read This...When I'm Dead received a 2015 Living Now book award, the women realized that the Read This... series would be a great tool to engage, educate, and inspire people to capture life's treasures and thus, the Read This Gurus were born. Their second book, Read This...on Our Anniversary, is designed for couples to fill it out to celebrate fun memories and capture changes in their life together - with a goal of building a long, happy life together. When Howard isn't writing or spending time with her husband and daughter, she often finds herself helping friends and family organize - closets, drawers, kitchen cabinets. She and her husband realized early on that he was the cleaner and she was the organizer (a trait their daughter definitely inherited). The Read This... series has allowed Howard to achieve her dream of writing books to inspire and touch peoples' hearts, and the style enables her to use those crazy organizational skills.
