Sanctuary by Jeff Mariotte

Of all the demon infested karaoke dives in all the dimensions in the universe they had to walk into Lorne's...During a brief respite from their active day jobs the employees at Angel Investigations find themselves frequenting Lorne's demon karaoke bar. But their moment of relaxation is cut short when a loud explosion draws them - and the rest of the bar's patrons - outside. The building opposite has become a towering inferno, but the conflagration is nothing more than a diversionary tactic to distract from a drive-by shooting. When the chaos subsides, Angel discovers that Fred is missing. It seems that she has been kidnapped, so the staff of Angel Investigations spring back into action. Angel, Lorne, Cordelia, Wesley and Gunn question everything on the scene. The good news is at least ten demons were direct eyewitnesses, but one problem emerges: Each tells a different version of events. It could have been gang warfare on monster territory, or Fred could have simply wandered home without saying goodbye. As they desperately try to track her down, one thing becomes clear; demons are far from reliable sources of information.
