The Tiger Roars again Sandokan and Yanez are back, righting injustices and fighting old foes. Tremal-Naik's misfortunes have continued. Emilio Salgari (Verona, 1862-Turü¾™†”¼n, 1911) empezü¾Œ¶˜¼ a publicar novelas por entregas a los veinte aü¾Œ–˜¼os. Se casü¾Œ¶˜¼ con Ida Peruzzi y poco despuü¾Ž–”¼s se instalü¾Œ¶˜¼ en Turü¾™†”¼n, donde se dedicü¾Œ¶˜¼ plenamente a la escritura. En 1897 el rey Humberto I le otorgü¾Œ¶˜¼ el tü¾™†”¼tulo honorü¾™†”¼fico de Caballero de la Corona de Italia. En 1900 se publicü¾Œ¶˜¼ en formato libro Los tigres de Mompracem, bajo el sello Donath Editore, que le dio un estipendio anual de tres mil liras con el encargo de escribir tres novelas al aü¾Œ–˜¼o. Ademü¾Œ–”¼s, Salgari escribü¾™†”¼a otras obras con seudü¾Œ¶˜¼nimo para otras editoriales. Los problemas psiquiü¾Œ–”¼tricos de su mujer, que ya se habü¾™†”¼an manifestado hacü¾™†”¼a tiempo, se agravaron en 1910, aü¾Œ–˜¼o en que Salgari intentü¾Œ¶˜¼ suicidarse por primera vez. Al siguiente, pocos dü¾™†”¼as despuü¾Ž–”¼s de que su esposa hubiera salido del manicomio, Salgari se quitü¾Œ¶˜¼ la vida. Habü¾™†”¼a publicado mü¾Œ–”¼s de ochenta obras.
