In addition to his Sanibel Sunset Detective mystery novels, which have become Florida bestsellers, Base has recently released The Escarpment, the first of a series of mystery novels set in Milton. Base spent several years in Los Angeles, where he penned If The Other Person Isn't Jack Nicholson, I've Got The Part, a book about the history of cinema celebrity that was published in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

He has also resided in Montreal, Paris, and Rome, and has authored numerous screenplays. Base is a Canadian native who was born, reared, and schooled. His wife, Kathy Lenhoff, and he split their time between Milton and Fort Myers, Florida, not far from Sanibel Island, the setting for his mystery novels. Ron's website is ronbase.com.
