
Satellite Projects Handbook by Lawrence Harris
This handbook provides access to the world of satellites. It describes different projects using affordable and available equipment. Scientific, weather and research satellites are featured, together with examples of the types of data and pictures they transmit. Recently there has been a surge of interest in the computer decoding of satellite data, and information is given on this important aspect. Information and guidance is given for the non-computer literate raeder, regarding the selection of a computer for picture decoding. The chapter on general satellite monitoring describes some of the equipment and methods necessary to identify some of the signals that may be heard. The types of hardware available is discussed, and cost and assembly details examined.
