Science and Its Fabrication by Alan Chalmers

Alan Chalmers is a co-founder of TrueDR Ltd and a professor of visualization at the University of Warwick. He is also a Royal Society Industrial Fellow. He was previously the founder and CEO of goHDR Ltd, a spinout firm. On high-fidelity virtual worlds and HDR imaging, he has published over 230 papers in journals and international conferences, and he has successfully supervised 37 PhD candidates. He is a Fellow of the ERA Foundation, Honorary President of Afrigraph, and former Vice President of ACM SIGGRAPH. He collaborated on the development of the world's first HDR video camera with SpheronVR, which was completed in July 2009.

He chaired EU COST Action IC1005 HDRi: The digital capture, storage, transmission, and presentation of real-world lighting [ic1005] from 2011 to 2015. This project brought together HDR research and development from 25 EU nations and 44 institutes. Chalmers is also a UK representative on IST/37, which is looking towards HDR standards within MPEG.
