SCM Reader: Christian Approaches to Other Faiths by Paul Hedges

The SCM Reader: Christian Approaches to Other Faiths is the ideal resource for courses concerned with World Religions, Interfaith Dialogue and Interfaith Encounter at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The editors are leading experts in the field of interfaith encounter and have compiled an authoritative collection of texts by historical and contemporary writers. The Reader surveys different approaches within the theology of religions and considers Christian responses to individual traditions such as Islam and Buddhism. Structured along the same lines as the SCM Core Text: Christian Approaches to Other Faiths (9780334041146), this is the ideal companion volume to the Core Text, but can also be read as a standalone text.
Paul M. Hedges lectures in Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Winchester, UK, and has taught for Canadian and Chinese universities. He has published works on the theology of religions and other areas, and is currently on the editorial board of the Journal of Religious History. Alan Race is Dean of Postgraduate Studies at St Philip’s Centre for Study and Engagement in a Multifaith World and Vicar at St Philip’s Church, Leicester. He is the author of the classic book Christians and Religious Pluralism (SCM 1983) and is known internationally for his work in interreligious dialogue.
