Ivar Watson won the Provost of Inverness Cup in the Cameron Highlanders before going to the Far East as a 2nd Lieutenant with the Royal Scots. He has an M.A. from the universities of Oxford (Keble) and Cambridge (Peterhouse). Watson was an English teacher at the British Council Institutes in Seville and Barcelona and later worked as an English lecturer at the Shah of Persia's University at Shiraz. Watson has given public lectures at the universities of Madrid and Valladolid and is the author of Glimpses of Deep Spain, a book of short stories focussing on Spanish life.
