Scoubidou Jewellery by Corien Van Tienhoven
Scoubidou jewellery is colourful and fun to make for yourself, or as a gift for your friends. Have hours of fun with Scoubidou Jewellery.June 05
If you think that Scooby Doo is just a cartoon dog with a large appetite, then you need this book to show you the hottest new trend in fashion jewelleryScoubidou are long plastic strands that come in many different colors and have been around since the 60s but are enjoying a revival now. Knotting them together to make things is a bit like macrame, but with a fun and funky twist.
Not just children but all ages (this reviewer for example) can enjoy themselves making fun summer jewellery that is just crying out to be worn with gaily-colored sundresses and flip-flops. The diagrams are in color, and easier to follow than those in the official Scoubidou book Scoubidou Fun Time (available with some sets), but if you want a wider range of projects then this book has them, instead of just jewellery and key rings which are shown in here. Once you have mastered the knotting techniques it is on with the projects, which make use of inexpensive beads, Makins Clay (and that sea mold) as well as cookie cutters and all sorts of other easily available bits and pieces. This is a user-friendly, gloriously colourful book that is so summery you almost expect sand to fall out of it...I had a lot of fun with this and so will anybody into fashion jewellery.
