Scratch and Sniff by Margaret Ryan
Scratch and Sniff is a cops and robbers story with a difference. Scratch and Sniff are a collie and a dachshund belonging to W.P.C Rosy Penrose. She is a little bit ditsy and is always given the rotten jobs to do by Sergeant Snide. When there's been a big robbery at Doogood's department store, Rosy is left behind to count traffic cones. As usual, she never gets to see any of the real police action. Until, that is, Scratch and Sniff decide to help out...
"A tale of doggy detectives with lots of humour and snapy dialogue guaranteed to appeal to the target audience" TES (November/December 2006)
