Seasonal Container Gardening by Kathleen Brown
A companion volume to "Creative Container Gardening", based on the same easy-to-follow recipe formula. It describes how to plant over 125 different containers, and how best to place them so that, throughout the year, they provide focal points in garden or conservatory, on balcony or on patio. Like a cookery book, each recipe gives a full list of ingredients - the plants used in each container, the soil, and the suggested container itself - and this is followed by the method of planting and advice on maintenance and aftercare. Seasonal recipes cover imaginative schemes for planting - from the wealth of bulbs available in the autumn through to the splendour of roses in summer. Of particular interest in this book are schemes for historical and edible plantings. Kathleen Brown is the co-author of "Creative Container Gardening", and author of "Create a Cottage Garden".
