These have been developed in line with new Common Worship liturgy of the Church of England and encompass community and agricultural festivals (e.g. Plough Sunday, Remembrance Day etc) celebrated in rural areas throughout the Church of England but not formally recognised within the church's calendar. Liturgies to celebrate the familiar festivals in ways relevant to rural communities are also included. The material is mainstream rather than alternative, and would be a useful contribution to 'times and seasons' material.
The authors are well-known for their work in rural ministry. John Lovatt is a member of the Industrial Christian Fellowship.
