The Secret Initiation of Jesus at Qumran by Robert Feather
Having completed a detailed analysis of the intriguing copper scroll that had been discovered among the dead sea scrolls, Robert Feather continues his research into the secretive, although unquestionably devout community of Essenes that inhabited Qumran around the time of Jesus. In the course of his investigations, he met with Father Jozef Milik, a former Catholic Priest and one of the scholars who worked on deciphering the Dead Sea Scrolls in the 1950s. It was a revelation. During his work somewhere near the Qumran ruins, Milik had excavated a headless corpse that he believed to be that of John the Baptist. Feather tracked down the site of this grave and found physical evidence that led him to draw the same conclusion - that this is the final burial place of John the Baptist. Robert Feather demonstrates a strong link between the Qumran Essenes and the writings in the New Testament and argues that both John the Baptist and Jesus were intimately involved in the community. He also suggests that the belief of early Christians in one true God was, in fact, based on a belief system centred around a form of monotheism, which was first formulated by the Egyptian Pharaoh, Akhenaten - and uniquely espoused by the Essenes at Qumran.| SKU | Unavailable |
