The Secret Life of an Airport by Martyn Cartledge
Many a book have covered what it takes for an aircraft to fly, but what about for an airport to run? This book provides a behind-the-scenes look at the men and women who keep airports running. From the big red doors of fire and rescue services to the tinted glass of the control tower, this book showcases the various jobs, many often unseen by passengers, required to get flights on track.
Martyn Cartledge is an aviation photographer and journalist with over 40 years' experience in documenting the changes in aviation over the decades. However, he has been interested in aviation since before he cares to remember! His work has appeared in magazines and books around the world, including his own two previous books, Flying Firsts and Lost Airline Colours of Asia. He has gone on to find a couple of diversionary aviation avenues and can be found commentating on the comings and goings at a major international airport and instructing on a unique aircraft simulator.
