Orbis Books' publisher emeritus and editor-at-large is MICHAEL LEACH. He has edited and published over three thousand books in his thirty years as a leader in Catholic publishing. Nobel Laureates, National Book Award winners, and hundreds of Catholic Book Award winners are among his authors. He has led the Catholic Book Publishers Association and the Ecumenical Religious Publishers Group. He was president of the Crossroad Publishing Corporation in New York City before joining Orbis as publisher in 1997.

He received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Catholic Book Publishers Association in 2007. The United States has dubbed him the Dean of Catholic Book Publishing. He has written or edited several publications, including the best-selling I Like Being Catholic and A Maryknoll Book of Prayer, The People's Catechism, and I Like Being Married for Catholic magazine. Michael resides in Connecticut with Vickie, his wife of 48 years, and is a frequent speaker at conferences across the country.
