The Secret of Bete Grise Bay by M C Tillson

Sam and Becky are sure they can help their new friend Tom Adams-well, pretty sure. After all, Tom is a ghost who has been dead for about 100 years.

Sam and Becky and their mom and dad are visiting Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula during summer vacation. While Mom and Dad work on their book about lighthouses, Becky and Sam help Tom solve riddles.

A long time ago, an evil witch put a curse on Tom. If he can solve three riddles before the next full moon, Tom can break the curse. Sam and Becky helped him solve the first two riddles, but the full moon is tomorrow night and time is running out. With the help of friends-some old and some new-Sam and Beck work against the clock to find the secret of Bete Grise Bay.

Tillson, M. C.: - M.C. Tillson wrote the first book in her Michigan lighthouse trilogy after a visit to Copper Harbor on Upper Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula. Since that time, she has written two other lighthouse adventure book trilogies, one about the lighthouses of Cape Fear on the coast of her native North Carolina and another about lighthouse near her adopted home in the San Francisco Bay area. Ms. Tillson's latest book is a different kind of mystery-a coloring picture book called Ms. McNair's Fantastic Hair.
