Robert Dodds grew up in Yorkshire and Kent. He studied English at Oxford University, and then became a teacher in Mexico. He has written short stories for anthologies, had others read on BBC Radio 4, abridged texts for radio, and written short films for BBC 2, as well as working in stage production. Since 1985 he has lectured in film and TV production at Edinburgh College of Art.
