Seeing Trouble by Ann Charles
What do you get when you combine a chicken named Elvis, a locked diary, and a secret Violet Parker does not want to share with her daughter? SEING TROUBLE is the first of many short stories involving the characters of the Deadwood Mystery series. (Bonus character interview, illustrations, and non-related short story also included.)Ann Charles is a multi-award-winning novelist who specializes in romantic mysteries with a sense of humour. Her novel NEARLY DEPARTED IN DEADWOOD earned the Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Mystery/Suspense in 2010 and the Golden Heart Award for Best Novel With Strong Romantic Themes from the Romance Writers of America in 2011. NEARLY DEPARTED IN DEADWOOD, OPTICAL DELUSIONS IN DEADWOOD, DEAD CASE IN DEADWOOD (chosen as one of Suspense Magazine's BEST OF 2012 books), and BETTER OFF DEAD IN DEADWOOD are all part of her ongoing Deadwood Mystery Series. In early 2014, the fifth book in the series will be released. The first two books in Ann's Jackrabbit Junction Mystery Series, DANCE OF THE WINNEBAGOS and JACKRABBIT JUNCTION JITTERS, are also available through her.
In January 2014, the third book in the series will be released. DEADWOOD SHORTS: SEEING TROUBLE (a short story from her Deadwood Mystery Series) and THE OLD MAN'S BACK IN TOWN (a short story from her planned Goldwash Mystery Series, the first of which will be released in 2014) are two of her short works. Ann has a B.A. in English and has been a member of Sisters in Crime and Romance Writers of America for many years. The University of Washington awarded him a bachelor's degree in English with a focus on creative writing.
She's presently working on her next book, wishing she was on a Mexican beach, sipping an ice-cold Corona and reading on her Kindle. She spends her time arm wrestling with her two children, attempting to woo her husband, and bickering with her snarky cat when she is not writing fiction. You may find her online most evenings at www.anncharles.com, on Facebook as Ann Charles, or on Twitter as DeadwoodViolet--especially around midnight, when her bizarre imaginary world comes to life.
