Gillian Clarke is a poet, playwright, and University of Glamorgan creative writing lecturer. She is the founding and past president of Ty Newydd, a writers' center in North Wales, as well as the former editor of the Anglo-Welsh Review. Five Fields, The King of Britain's Daughter, Letting in the Gossip, and Preparing the Beds for the Dead are among her works.
