Description currently unavailableJohn Heath-Stubbs was born in 1918 and went to Queens College, Oxford, for his education. He has received the Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry and the famous St Augustine Cross, as well as being a critic, anthologist, and translator. Heath-Stubbs had previously published seven collections with Carcanet, as well as a Collected and Selected Poems and a compilation of his literary essays. He was given the OBE in 1988. Carcanet published his poetry for nearly three decades. On December 25, 2006, he died in London.
