Self-Abandonment to Divine Providence by Jean-Pierre De Caussade

Probably the greatest classic on surrendering our wills to Divine Providence (God's will). Filled with beautiful, penetrating insights, an incredibly rich store of Catholic wisdom. Shows how sanctity is to be attained amidst our common daily activities when performed to perfection and for the love of God. Written to help those who despair of ever becoming holy. A great and famous classic 480 pgs, PB

In 1708, Jean-Pierre de Caussade was ordained a member of the Society of Jesus in Toulouse, France. He was named spiritual director of the Jesuit retreat home in Nancy in 1731, where he oversaw the spiritual supervision of the Visitation Nuns. This book is made up of notes from his addresses to nuns. Kitty Muggeridge, the wife of novelist and journalist Malcolm Muggeridge, is a well-known translator.
