The book also helps prosecutors with their duties as to sentencing effective under the Criminal Procedure Rules from 6th April 2009. Anthony Edwards is the senior partner of TV Edwards, London, and a criminal law specialist which includes working as a duty solicitor. Anthony was appointed to the Sentencing Guidelines Council to assist in the application of consistent sentencing in all the courts in England and Wales. He is author of Fixed Fees in the Criminal Courts (Law Society, 2008) and co-author of Criminal Defence, 3rd Edition (Law Society, 2008), Joanne Savage is a solicitor and spent 15 years in the magistrates' courts service latterly as Senior Legal Adviser and is an accredited regional trainer of magistrates and legal advisers in the West Midlands. Joanne is Secretary to the Sentencing Guidelines Council.
