Services for Weekdays by The Revd James Woodward
This book provides resources for simple services for weekdays throughout the year. The services have been tried, tested and successfully used and are ideal for small, informal groups. Each service includes a short, straightforward reading taken from the Gospels or Epistles and a comment. The latter takes the form of a brief exposition which draws on ordinary experience and every day life. There are also suggestions for prayer, either there and then or privately after the service is over. Often, the theme that is highlighted each week lends itself to discussion among those present, perhaps prompted by appropriate questions about experience or preferences. This book, the first of its kind, is an excellent resource for services with a wide range of people, including young mothers, the elderly and carers.
JAMES WOODWARD is a well known author and an expert in the field of old age and bereavement. LESLIE HOULDEN is a fellow and professor emeritus at King's College London.
