Marilyn conceived the idea for There For You several years ago and was able to bring it to fruition in January 2005. Her background has provided her with knowledge and experience as she deals with the issues of aging in a sensitive manner. Before creating There For You, Marilyn was the marketing director for an adult retirement community, where she interacted with residents and staff on a daily basis. She felt a need to reach out and help families who were struggling to find the time to get everything done. As an advocate and consultant for baby boomers as well as elder adults, Marilyn has become a trustworthy friend to the many who rely on her ex-pertise as she helps them find solutions to the issues they live with every day. Marilyn believes aging for today's boomers will be vastly different than it is for their parent's generation. There For You creates an outlet for families who need an extra hand as they try to balance work and family and caring for elder parents. In addi-tion to being a consultant, she provides a wide range of services for her clients by running errands, escorting and attending medical appointments, coordinating necessary moves. She helps by offering solutions to lifestyle changes, organizing outings, facilitating pet care, and especially by provid-ing companionship. As a busy culinary arts instructor, Marilyn created her first business, Cooking Capers in 1990 and wrote a cookbook titled, Marilyn's Ginger 'N' Jazz. She continues to enjoy cooking and baking today. She relished being a guest on The Patsy Swendon Show, (South Texas' KTSA Radio; 3-hour live radio program) doing cookbook reviews, inter-views, and restaurant reviews, as well as being a guest on A Couple of Cooks, (KENS-TV: CBS affiliate in San Antonio, TX). Marilyn is an avid gardener with a keen eye for floral design. Additionally, she has a flair for interior design, creating warm, inviting spaces. Read her blog for more insight and information and to enjoy her other topics as she shares some of her varied interests. She and her husband live in Wilsonville, Oregon. Their son and daughter already know what to expect from their parents in the coming years
