"..the accessibility of the book and the contemporary importance of the subject matter will commend it to a wide academic audience. It should also be essential reading for 'armchair moralisers." - Community Care "I could not put this compelling book down...to be recommended to research sceptics. It is rich in evidence and provides a good base from which to launch discussions within the sexual health curriculum." - Nursing Times"...rich descriptions of the lives and experiences of street working prostitutes and their clients. This book will be of use to students in providing them with empirical data as well as giving them an insight into the everyday experiences of women selling sex from thestreets." - Women's Studies Network (UK) Association Newsletter "I would recommend this book to anyone interested in women's health, and social issues associated with prostitution." - Journal of Public Health Medicine
