Daniel O'Brien is a world traveler, author, and teacher. Daniel has an MA in Advanced Japanese Studies and has traveled widely throughout East and Southeast Asia since he is fascinated by transnational cultures. He developed a strong knowledge of and appreciation for Japanese culture throughout his twelve-year stay in Japan, which he now shares with his Eastern Thought high-school class. Daniel guides a group of authors as they speak and exchange their work in order to develop together as the founder of a local collective. He also serves on the board of a meditation and study center and as the Literary Liaison for the Arts Consortium of Carver County.

Daniel's debut book, Star Points: Ancient and New Connections, was released in 2011. The first novel in his upcoming Japan Series, Japanese Ghost in America, will aim to educate readers about Japanese culture through the eyes of an American protagonist. Daniel presently resides in Minnesota with his wife and dog, where he enjoys walking, camping, and engaging in the local art scene....
