Set in 2047, the chilling carnage following the onset of a deadly virus, plaguing a broken society and blighting humanity, had germinated humankind into a civilization tainted with anarchy, murder and corruption.
Rory McQuaid was born in a small fishing village on the East coast of England. He left school at the age of fifteen to tour the world as a musician, reasoning it would lead to a far better education than the one he was currently not enjoying at a third-rate comprehensive school. He met and married his wife while on tour in Africa. Together, they built a sailboat in Cape Town and set out on a lifetime voyage, crossing many oceans to faraway places. His love of literature, garnered on many of those long voyages sparked his enthusiasm to write, encouraged with vigour by Pippa his wife and lifetime muse. He wrote a series of short fiction stories for a yachting publication for which Pippa was the editor. A SHADOW FROM A DARK PLACE is his second full length novel, but the first to be published. He currently lives and writes in a seventeenth century cottage in Wales.
