Richard Lambert was born in London. He has had many different jobs, including teaching medieval history at Bristol University. One of his stories was shortlisted for the Sunday Times Short Story Award and another won the Fish Short Story Prize; his poems have been published in the Times Literary Supplement, The Spectator, and The Forward Prize Anthology.
