The Shaker Legacy by Christian Becksvoort

This is a photo gallery of 150 Shaker pieces, many seen here for the first time. It gives insights on Shaker design and a detailed historical and design notes on each piece.'

Christian Becksvoort has been a professional carpenter for 40 years and a contributing editor to Fine Woodworking for 25. He claims that he still works alone after all these years. I create each piece by designing, laying out, constructing, gluing, sanding, and finishing it. Each year, he creates between 20 and 30 items, ranging from chairs, tables, and chests of drawers to lamps, clocks, and little sleighs. What is your favorite furniture style? He is the author of The Shaker Heritage (The Taunton Press, 1998), a woodworking classic.
