Shattered by Jennifer Armstrong
After the tragic loss of her mother, fifteen-year-old Natalie isn't sure how to move on with her life. She and her brother are sent to stay with family friend Joan--and her son, Adam--at a small, remote cabin. Natalie is sure this is going to be the worst spring break ever. Through a twist of fate, Natalie and Adam are left alone at the cabin . . . But when a raging storm hits and a falling tree destroys the cabin, Natalie and Adam must figure out how to survive. Shattered is from Survive, an EPIC Press series.Jennifer Armstrong knew she wanted to be an novelist since she was in first grade. She had a lot of fun making up stories and telling them to others. Her family valued literature, therefore she became a voracious reader of all genres of fiction. It was no surprise that she chose Smith College in Massachusetts to study English and American Literature. Armstrong has written nearly 50 novels for youngsters ranging in age from kindergarten to high school.
She's best recognized for her historical fiction, but she's also written picture books, easy readers, chapter books, young adult novels, and nonfiction. Armstrong presently resides in Saratoga Springs, New York, after growing up outside of New York City. With Shipwreck at the Bottom of the World, Jennifer Armstrong won the Orbis Pictus Award for Outstanding Nonfiction. The American Library Association and the International Reading Association have named many of her novels Notable Books.
