Sheltie and the Snow Pony by Peter Clover
It's snowing in Little Applewood. On the way back from a ride on the snowy downs, Emma and Sheltie discover a very thin pony, tethered and left to fend for himself and in danger of freezing to death. Emma decides to rescue the pony, who stays with Sheltie in his paddock until he gets better. Eventually, the mystery of the pony is solved when it leads Emma and Sheltie to its owner: an old lady who lives alone. She can't look after it any more but everything ends happily when a local riding school offers to take the pony and give it a good home.
Peter Clover works as an illustrator in an advertising agency and has recently begun to enjoy putting words to his pictures. He has illustrated non-fiction books in the past. The SHELTIE stories are his first fiction titles. Peter lives in Somerset.
