Sheltie On Patrol (16) by Peter Clover
Emma's dad reads about the theft of a pig in the local paper and she wishes she could find it and claim the reward to pay for a new bridle for Sheltie. Instead she and Sheltie help Mr Brown, a local farmer, to earn some money. They're watching the sheep when Sheltie spots a smashed trailer hidden in the bushes, and they see two men camping in the woods. Emma and Sheltie are soon on the trail of the thieves and catch them stealing Mr Brown's new sheep. They raise the alarm and, in the nick of time, Sheltie discovers a stolen pony and a pig, as well as sheep.
Peter Clover works as an illustrator in an advertising agency and now successfully enjoys putting words to his pictures. He has illustrated non-fiction books in the past; the SHELTIE stories are his first fiction titles. Peter lives in Somerset.
