In Shiva and the Primordial Tradition, Alain Daniélou explores the relationship between Shaivism and the Western world. Alain Daniélou (1907-1994) was a prominent Western conversion to and expert on Shaivite Hinduism, as well as a historian, scholar, musicologist, and Indologist.
