In 1971 Michael Asher joined the Parachute Regiment of the British Army. This book tells of Asher's experiences as he was subjected to intimidation by instructors. He also describes his recruitment experience as well as the subsequent eight years of service in Ireland and in the SAS.Michael Asher has served in the SAS and the Parachute Regiment. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and has received the Royal Geographical Society's Ness Award and the Royal Scottish Geographical Society's Mungo Park Medal for Exploration.
