Shushybye: Close Your Eyes by Stephen Syatt
Concise Encyclopedia of Applied Linguistics formalizes, organizes and analyzes the relation of knowledge about language to decision-making in practice. It synthesizes research in psycholinguistics, educational linguistics and sociolinguistics, freely crossing subject fields to establish innovative and expert responses to some of the key debates in the field. Authored and compiled by leaders in their various specialties and collated and extensively re-edited from the award-winning Encyclopedia of Language and Linguistics, Second Edition, this collection will be an ideal one-stop desk reference solution for any linguistics professional and researcher interested in how language operates at the leading edge.
Steve Syatt founded the SSA Public Relations firm which was responsible for launching children's brand successes such as Berenstein Bears: The Animated Series, Pokemon, and Bob the Builder to name just a few. Fifteen years ago he began writing bedtime stories and songs about the Shushies, who live in Shushyland and make the dreams kids dream at night. His son and daughter were both the inspiration and testing ground for his ideas. Frank Caruso is Vice President of Creative at King Features Syndicate where he is involved with the development of new King Features licensing properties, and supervises all creative aspects of the company's internet, animation, and promotional activities. He oversees the creative supervision for the licensing of Betty Boop, Popeye, Mutts and other classic King Features comic properties worldwide.
