Donna O'Klock grew up in Bayport, Long Island, NY, the oldest of five girls. With fond memories of visiting Texas by train as a child, she moved to Austin with her son in 1978. After a brief stint working at Austin Public Library, she opened her first hairstyling salon in 1980, right next door to Grok Books. In addition to her salon clientele, she has done hair and makeup for independent films, television, theater, political campaigns, and local photographers. She is now retired from the beauty industry. Donna is also a blogger, posting at SexyPast60.com and DamnedGypsy.com, and on 1010ParkPlace, an online magazine celebrating women over 45. She lives with her fiancé, and, along with their shared passion for travel and motorcycles, she is an avid photographer and cook, currently striving to perfect the art of gluten-free pastries.
