Joseph L. Roberts was, for over thirty years, the pastor of the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, the former pulpit of the Reverends Martin Luther King Senior and Junior. The sermons in this collection demonstrate Roberts's commitment to the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., the mission of his church, the lives of his parishioners, and the message of Jesus Christ. Roberts addresses such topics as the need for prophetic voices in today's world, the challenges of living individualistically and in community, burden sharing as a key to a meaningful life, the relevance of grace and faith today, and the importance of renewal through relationship with God and our fellow human beings.
Joseph L. Roberts Jr. is a former pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a graduate of Union Theological Seminary in New York City and Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey. In 2004 he received Distinguished Alumni awards from both Princeton and Union.
