Silly Jack by Surplice Holly
Jack is so silly he doesn't even know what kind of animal he is. He tries to be a cow, a chicken, a dog, and even a goose - but none seems quite right! With the help of his farmyard friends, Jack discovers exactly what he is - a horse, of course! The rhythmic text makes this colourful book perfect to read aloud. The double gatefold on the front and back covers includes pop-out-and-play farm animals, a farmyard scene and a game.
Holly Surplice has exhibited her work all around the UK and has travelled to many exotic places including the Amazon and the Galapagos Islands to study and draw wild animals. She was the artist-in-residence at Edinburgh Zoo in 2003. Holly has an MA in Illustration and teaches part-time at Edinburgh College of Art. She lives in Lilliesleaf in the Scottish Borders.
