The Singing Book by Meribeth Dayme

Taking a “Sing First, Talk Later” approach, The Singing Book gets students singing from the very first day. Combining a simple introduction to basic vocal technique with confidence-building exercises and imaginative repertoire—with 30 new songs—The Singing Book teaches beginners the vocal skills they need to get started, gives them exciting music to sing, and provides the tools they need to develop the voice and keep it healthy. A new recordings disc included free with every new book provides the melodies and accompaniments for all 78 songs for practice and performance.
Meribeth Dayme, an authority on the singing voice, has given master classes in singing throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. She regularly teaches courses in the vocal arts and workshops in self-development for singers and teachers of singing, and management training courses for major corporations. She is the author of The Performer's Voice, Dynamics of the Singing Voice, and Creating Confidence. Cynthia Vaughn teaches voice and song literature at Colorado State University and is in demand nationally and internationally as a clinician. For twenty years she has also taught beginning to advanced singers in her private studio and is an active performer in concert, opera, and musical theater. She is Vocal Literature Coordinator for the NATS Intern Program, National Association of Teachers of Singing.
