Michael L. Bloomquist, PhD, is Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota, and he provides psychological services and program consultation at PrairieCare Medical Group (a University of Minnesota affiliate site), both in Minneapolis. In his practice, he specializes in parent and family skills training for youth with behavioral-emotional problems. As a researcher, he is a coinvestigator at the Center for Personalized Prevention Research in Children's Mental Health, University of Minnesota, and a principal investigator on several studies examining the effects of comprehensive community-based prevention programs for high-risk youth and families. Dr. Bloomquist has written extensively about effective intervention methods, and he trains children's mental health professionals in evidence-based practice.
