Kit Pearson spent many years as a librarian before publishing her debut novel, The Daring Game, in 1986. She went on to write The Sky Is Falling (1989), Looking at the Moon (1991), and The Lights Go On Again (1993), which were released as The Guests of War trilogy in 1999, as well as Awake and Dreaming (1996), which won the Governor General's Prize. Pearson lives in Victoria, near Ross Bay Cemetery, which is featured in Awake and Dreaming.
