Brown writes for the New York Times science section, magazine, and op-ed page, as well as for publications like Health, O, the Chicago Tribune, Parenting, and many others. She lived in Madison, Wisconsin, for 15 years, where she worked on both American Girl and Wisconsin Trails magazines. Other books include Feed Me!, Mr. Wrong, and The Promised Land, a collection of poems from the University of Wisconsin Library System.
