Summary

You may now expect a dirty weekend to involve nothing more exciting than cleaning out the garden shed, and you may find yourself being snubbed even by high-street canvassers. On the bright side, you will never again have to force yourself into groaningly tight fashion jeans – or pretend to like tequila slammers.

So You're 50! by Clive Whichelow

Others will now perceive you as a reactionary old git, unemployable, and a health insurance risk. Your opinion is not even sought by high street canvassers, and patronizing sales assistants in clothes shops will be your natural enemies. Your idea of a dirty weekend is cleaning out the garden shed. On the bright side, you can feel smug that you have better grammar than a university student and have outlived John Lennon by ten years.
Clive Whichelow is a journalist and comedy writer. He has written for Rory Bremner, Jonathan Ross, Spitting Image and many others as well as for The Mail on Sunday, the Daily Express and the Daily Mirror. Mike Haskins is a writer and researcher who has worked on TV providing scripts for everyone from Simon Pegg to Christopher Biggins. He has worked on radio series featuring Des O’Connor, Bruce Forsyth and Brian Eno (although sadly not all at the same time). He has worked for many years with Griff Rhys Jones and has written (or co-written) a vast pile of books including the bestselling joke collection Man Walks Into A Bar.
